WORKPLACE READINESS SKILLS CERTIFICATION

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The 5C’s Workplace Readiness Skills certificate program directly correlates with the essential curriculum and competencies developed by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Workplace readiness focuses on building professionalism, personal qualities, technology awareness and new 21st century job readiness skills to excel.

 

According to VDOE, "In Virginia, extensive research was conducted on employer needs (1997 and 2009) that led to all career and technical courses incorporating workplace readiness skills instruction. In response to the research to better prepare students to enter the workplace and be successful in their chosen careers, the update list of 21 Workplace  Readiness Skills was adopted by Virginia Board of Education in April 2010."

Course topics include building personal qualities, communication, technical, people skills and more. Program graduates will receive a Workplace Readiness Skills Certificate.
